The Role
The best and most valuable work experience I have had so far.
Felt highly valued by my colleagues, they trusted me and my abilities from the start.
My line manager and others around me were incredibly helpful if I had any queries.
The workload fluctuated, I was adequately busy most days though.
I was given as much responsibility as I felt was sensible given my lack of experience anything beyond the level of responsibility I was given would have been excessive.
The skills i have developed are transferrable to my degree studies and future life, the main one being my organizational skills. My confidence to communicate with others in the workplace environment has come on greatly.
The Company
The atmosphere was great in my office. It was relaxed and everyone constantly seemed to be in high spirits. This made it a very enjoyable place to work.
The internnship set up was great, from the initial application process to actual working day.
I feel the company invested in me greatly, they gave me as much of a view of the overall company as possible. Much of my work involved time management and communication with senior stakeholders, and communicating wit these colleagues appropriately/effectively is a skill I will take with me into later life.
Future employment prospects are very appealing, because LBG is such a large company there are many different roles to consider.
The Culture
Due to my internship location I was the only intern, and due to a significant age difference between me and my colleagues there wasn't really a social scene for me to be in.
I did the internship in my home city, so prices were no different than what I am use to.
Great!
Was part of a fundraising team which was good fun, gave me something rewarding to do in my spare time out of the office.
