The Role
I really enjoyed my internship because of the people - the other interns, my managers and my team. Everyone was lovely and made a massive effort to make me feel included.
Feeling valued is really important, I would say this really depends on how much your team trusts you and therefore how much work they are willing to give you and how important the work was. I felt that it took a while for people to completely trust me but when they did and gave me good wok to do I felt valued.
I had wtwo managers and what really stood out to me was that they both genuinely cared about what I wanted to do and get out of this internship. As a result of the initial discussions, they gave me specific things and put me on certain work streams that I was interested in and that would develop my skills in the areas I would like.
This was a very mixed issue. Some days I would be bored and would be makingup my own work to do and other days I would be rushed off my feet. I think its very hard to get this aspect right every time but what was good was that I had so long term projects which I could focus on when I have some time on my hands.
Again this was mixed. We had a group challenge against other interns and I was the team leader so in this aspect I had loads of responsibilty because I souhgt it out myself. In terms os the responsibilty from my line manager, I think I could have had slightly more but I also understand some of the things they were working on were incredibly important and would have been a great risk letting the intern have too much responsibilty.
I don't think it will assist me in my degree studies at all but I have learnt so much more about businesses, banks and how they operate. I think that some of the things that you learn on a 'hands on' internship are hard to quantify but I can honestly say they have given me much more insight into how things work and that this is invaluable.
The Company
It was okay. It wasn't the most lively office to work in and there wasn't a great sense of community but then again all the people are friendly and say hi every morning. I think that it just really depends on what office you are put in, luck of the draw really!
The actual organisation of the intership is really great, the GCA team work so hard to place everyone into good internships. However, once you are placed it is then your line manager and team who create the day to day work of you internship, therefore it is very dependent on them and what they have planned for their intern to do.
The amount of time that my team have invested in me is great. They take out hours just to talk things over with me so that I understand whats happening and learn more about the business. I'm genuinely really greatful for this because I know that they are all very busy people so their time is precious.

I won't entre the garduate scheme immidately as there are other areas that I wan to explore but I will look back highly on Lloyds as a company and could see myself comin back here in the future. They are a great and caring company to work for and therefore if they offer a role I would like to go in to I would not hesitate to do so.
The Culture
The other interns are great although I think that there should be more group events held by Lloyds fo rit is events like this that actually make us bond etc. Having said that, I have made some really great friendships and there are over 20 other interns in my building and alwaus someone to have lunch with!
Very high but on the internship Lloyds provide accomodation for you which is amazing as it leaves you with muc more money (esp at London rent prices). The socialising is expensive as we are based in the heart of London, but people wprking in London to get paid a higher abmount than tohse working outside of London.
Yeah good, I already go to Uni in London and therefore kind of knew what the nightlife would be like. The Accomodation is right next to kings cross so very central and we go out a lot anyway.
Sort of. As a result of the Charity Challenge loads of interns held events, for example my team hosted a curry night and there was also a pub quiz and open mic night. But in terms of the actual events that were held by Lloyds for the interns and the employees there were very few if any.
