The Role
This summer I had the unique opportunity to gain exposure to a Relationship Management role by attending client meetings, product partner workshops and managing a portfolio of 30 clients. Overall, it was a priviledge to get this working experience this summer.
SInce day one I have been really valued by my colleagues in an open and inclusive working environment. I did not feel as a passive intern but an active member of the team.
I had weekly meetings with my line manager which highlighted the main tasks of the week and received feedback to keep improving my personal development.
I got assigned a portfolio of 30 clients and had two main projects throughout the internship. Therefore, there was no time to get bored and received enough work load. The working hours were really good rangling from 8:30 to 5:30.
I believe that I was given abundant reponsability as an intern. I was responsible to deliver weekly reports to the Area Directors regarding OneView tool statistics. Also, they trusted me to speak directly to clients to fulfill their daily managements such as placing deposits, ammending bank mandates and solving their account queries.
I honed communication and time management skills which will prove invaluable in completing my last year of university. Moreover, this internship has helped me discover my career aspirations in the future.
The Company
With such a lively atmosphere I never got bored!
The internship is as good as you make it. Therefore it depends on how much each intern wants to get out of it.
We got two webinars on Banking Basics and we had access to a portal of numerous training opportunities available.
Company Parties/Events
I would be looking forward to joining the Graduate Scheme in Corporates next year. Excellent opportunity to gain experince within risk, product, and management to become a commercial banking with valuable networks.
The Culture
Good social scene amongs interns since we all lived together in the same residence and got to know each other really well.
SInce it was in London it was pretty expensive.
