The Role
I was given challenging and engaging work. My team was supportive and genuinely wanted me to become part of their team. Being part of a team that genuinely wants you there ensured that I enjoyed myself.
My colleagues treated me as one of their own. I felt genuinely valued and they actively engaged me in work and after work activities. They listened to my opinion and I was not treated like an intern but a colleague.
My line manager took a keen interest in my development and ensured that I was actively learning. He definitely made me feel welcome and made sure I fit into the team. I was given a list of expectations at the beginning of the internship which served as a good guide.
I had enough work to keen me busy during the week but not enough that I was overworked or stressed about how much was on my plate. I was lucky that it was a relatively quiet period and they stressed that I should be enjoying my time and not simply working.
I was able to take the lead on a couple of projects. I was given responsibility over a number of areas and my team trusted me to do the work assigned. It was refreshing to see that I was not photocopying but actually engaging in projects.
The learning curve was steep. The largely informal training that I received ensured that I was able to engage in a wide variety of tasks. The skills that I developed will be crucial to my future career as I learnt lots of soft skills that will be helpful when working in a corporate environment.
The Company
The generaly atmosphere was great. People were friendly and while there was an attitude that ensured that everyone got their work done they were more than happy to answer questions or joke around.
The internship was well organised. It was largely organised by my line manager who ensured I had all the requisite IT resources prior to my arrival. On a whole communication with the Emerging Talent was good and they generally responded the next business day.
They were definitely keen to invest in me. It was clear that I was valued and they appreciated me working there. Staff took time out of their days to get to know me made sure that I was having a positive experience.

The process from intern to grad is relatively streamline. I know that there is a future within my team and I fitted in well in the organisation. My future prospects are very positive and it is clear that are happy to keep me on.
The Culture
All interns stayed in the same accomodation (paid for) which was great. This ensured that there was a vibrant social scene. My team was also keen to integrate me and ensured that team drinks were organised so that I would feel part of the organisation.
London is expensive there is no doubt about that. Accomodation was paid for which was a heavy burden off of my shoulders. This buffer ensured that I was able to enjoy my time in London.
The nightlife in my area was great. London is a vibrant city with lots of things to do every night of the week which ensured that fun could be had on any day. Although expensive you could always have a good time.
While not formal there were a large amount of informal opportunities ouside of the workplace. this ensured that I was always busy. Also being in London there were lots of things to do everywhere you went.
