The Role
Fantastic. The line manager was really supportive and always availible to give support and answer questions. The team was very welcoming and patient. I was given some small projects that I would be able to deliver within my internship.
I felt like a valued member of the team whose opinion and imput were worth something. They made sure that I was included .
I was given a great amount of support and guidance. It was whenever I requested it, so I had a great balance between exploring and learning my self and being guided.
I had lots to do, especailly as towards the end of my placement I covered another member of the team who was away for a couple of weeks.
I was given my own projects to work on, in collarboration with others. In these projects I had a voice which was heard and also the responsibility/ownship of any progress that was made.
Delivering projects. chairing calls/meetings. Managing stakeholder expectations. Managing my own time between projects - expecially learning to stop and go make progress somewhere else rather than become entirely focused on one thing.
The Company
Colleagues were friendly, there were a good number of social events and occassions. It was also a quiet and productive place to work.
Pretty well. There were a few IT problems at the start, but nothing unexpected or out of the ordinary. My line manager called me a couple of weeks before the placement in order to try and iron out some of the kinks.
I was given access to online modules relevant to my role+sector and beyond. I also had a series of sessions with all the sectors that the business covered in order to learn about them and come up to speed on them.
Company Parties/Events
I would love to work in a place like Lloyds Banking group. I feel like they take the time to recruit and then invest in the people they onboard. I also feel that they treat people well. I have a second internship with them lined up. Hopefully I will secure a direct referal to the graduate scheme.
The Culture
Whatsapp never stopped. The interns were all living in the same shared accomodation. There were plenty of social events organised, especially as it was the summer.
central london is expensive compared with other places. However accomodation was provided.
According to other interns - great.
PLenty - we were asked to take part in fundraising for the charity of the year. We created our own opportunities to do this so it was as much or as little as one wanted.
