The Role
Both of the desks I was assigned to spent a lot of time and effort on me and I also enjoyed the different range of activities organized for us out of our desk.
I think my work was appreciated and I always got constructive feedback when I asked.
My managers as well as other colleagues in the team were always willing to help and spend time with me as well as answering any questions I had.
On the first desk I had fixed daily tasks and a long-term project while on the second one I used to work together with people from my team on shorter tasks. We were also busy with the on-going presentations, trading game and other activities organized as part of the programme.
Since I was sitting in Trading I wasn't give much responsibility apart from daily wraps and comments that were sent to the team.
Apart from the technical knowledge I gained during the programme I also developed other skills working as part of different teams, doing presentations and sitting with other desks.
The Company
Everyone was open to answer questions or make some time for us to shadow them.
It was very well organized and I enjoyed the fact that we had a week of mini-rotations on different Sales and Trading desks so taht we could submit preferences rather than get assigned to a desk.
We had a whole week of training and skills development as well as teach-in sessions, workshops, speaker series and netowking events during the whole programme.
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
I think the future prospects as well as the general atmosphere in the office and the teams I was sitting with make this company very appealing for my future career.
The Culture
Since the Graduate team organized socials for us since the begining of the programme as well as group projects we got to know each other really well and built strong relationships.
Costs were quite high but it would have been the same in any other sector-like company.
The area has a number of bars and pubs to socialize that were full of both interns, graduates and employees on the evenings. It was a good chance to meet friends as well as to network with company employees.
Since we started the internship we got the chance to participate in volunteering activities as well as talks and other teach-in sessions.
