The Role
I really enjoyed my placement in the Digital Innovation team. The office culture is dynamic and fast-paced, so the work I received was really challenging and interesting. My colleagues were also fun and engaging to work with as well.
I feel valued by my colleagues, even though personality-wise they are very different to me. I felt like I was making a real difference in my contributions at work.
I was given enough support for my needs, but not so much that it became overwhelming or smothering.
It really varied, but as my line manager could trust me with more work she gave me more of the work I was seeking.
It took a while to move on from basic tasks, but I proved myself to be capable of handling responsibility quite early on.
The work I did was slightly related to my degree in English Literaure, but I think the skills (especially soft skills) I developed will help me in my career beyond university.
The Company
Really fun and dynamic, but quite productive too.
Very well organised by the Intern team.
There were several training sessions and insight days.
Subsidised/Company Gym
There is a good chance of being referred onto the grad scheme,
The Culture
Yes, there were drinks quite often.
London is very expensive!
Good but expensive.
There were a few team offsites.
