The Role
I have enjoyed the variety of work that I have been involved in and it has been a valuable experience for me.
The people that I have worked with are very friendly, helpful and easy to get along with making me feel very comfortable when I am doing the job.
My line manager has taken good care of me by leading me in doing the job while my colleagues have given me a lot of advice on the job too.
Although the job was not very busy, it was enough to keep me going and had helped me to learn a lot about the factory operations.
I would say that I have been given a fair amount of responsibilities given that I have come from zero experience in the factory.
I feel that I have greatly improved my communication skills as most of the time I have to work with others to get the job completed and my IT skills have also greatly improved as I have used a lot of computer in doing my job.
The Company
In general, it was a friendly and relaxing atmosphere with a bit of humor going around.
I think overall the placement scheme was set up in a good and organised method as I was treated as one of the employee and involved in various training as well as communication sessions that were going on in the factory.
The company has invested a lot of money in setting up an online training for various IT knowledge such as Microsoft Office and I have managed to make use of it to improve my IT skills.
Flexi Time
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
I will consider returning to the company upon graduation, however, I would be looking into a different role than my placement.
The Culture
There were other placement students around and I managed to socialize with them as well as spending day out together.
My salary was enough to cover the cost of living as well as for entertainment and socialising. I have also managed to saved up some for travelling.
There were a few night out organized by people from work and I have attended a lot of them if not all of them. It was great to spend time with colleagues outside work as we get to see each other in a different way and it was a lot of fun.
The company always try to organize a day out for the employee whenever possible. I went to a paint ball game once with my colleagues and it was a great experience.
