The Role
It was very enjoyable. There were plenty of social events and very interesting seminars. My team were very welcoming and I found it easy to get along with them. There was also the opportunity to get involved with some very relevant projects at HSBC.
I felt very valued and I was assured that the work I was doing would be continued by my team as part of a wider project, so it felt very important.
My line manager was very approachable and I could go and talk to her at any point about any issues that I had.
I was relatively busy most of the time, but I was extremely busy towards the latter end of the programme.
I was given a project which looked into researching an area in which HSBC was going to branch out into. I was also involved in a project which was the biggest area of Investment within the Asset Management group.
I learned a lot about research techniques and about the financial markets.
The Company
There was a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere on my floor.
There was a great mix of seminars, social events, regular catch up meetings with HR representatives and relevant work which was going to make a difference to the business.
I feel as though the internship programme had been very well thought out and that it was a strong area of investment for the firm.

Very appealing.
The Culture
There was a very good social scene during the internship and I was able to make friends across all different business areas of HSBC.
I commuted from home, but London is quite expensive for socialising.
Excellent
There were a lot of opportunities to get involved with social events which were put on by HR, as well as grad students and my team. There was also the opportunity to get involved in seminars and sports clubs.
