The Role
It was good, however I found it extremely different from anything I've done before, as it is not related to my degree or previous employment.
I was welcomed and everyone was consistently friendly.
Very supportive if needed, a little difficult to find time for a quality discussion to lay out clear tasks.
Found that I often got through tasks too quickly and then left with nothing to do as management often too busy to give clear tasks.
Responsibility for a few tasks, however often helping other managers with jobs.
Very good for adding to the CV, not in the slightest related to my degree (Zoology), so not helpful on that front.
The Company
Lots of fun charity events, everyone easy to talk to and friendly.mvery approachable also.
Found tasks a little too easy and quick to get through at times, however start to finish was okay.
Not to a great extent, however I did feel valued in my role with assisting managers.
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
They are completely unrelated to my degree, so it's not particularly appealing. However, they are a good company to work for and appearing on that front.
The Culture
Plenty of opportunity to engage with fellow interns and staff.
Edinburgh is quite an expensive place to socialise.
During Edinburgh fringe time, no shortage of things to do.
Plenty of encouragement for volunteering and socialising.
