The Role
I really enjoyed my placement as it gave me an opportunity to develop new and existing skills. I enjoyed interacting with new people, and networking.
I felt my work was valued, and I enjoyed chatting to team members. I think as I wasn't directly working within a team it was hard to interact daily.
My manger was fantastic and so were fellow members of the team. Always happy to help and advise me. I had regular catch ups and could always get help when needed.
I was very busy which I loved. I had numerous projects that kept me engaged and focus. I owned the projects so it was great seeing them through from start to finish.
I had complete ownership for my projects, so was given plenty of responsibility. I had objective to meet and organised meetings, giving members of my managers team work to do.
I would like to be a teacher, so was particularly interested in developing my communication and people skills. With this in my mind my manger let me deliver presentations, and I got involved with colleague recognition, this has really helped me develop and I loved it!
The Company
Amazing! Completely different to other offices I have been in. The atmosphere was friendly, lively, busy and a great place to work.
It was set up fantastically. We had regular updates, Phone calls and my manager was happy for me to organise my own work.
I had regular one to Ones, webinars and up dates. Everyone was keen for me to develop my skills, if I wasn't happy or wanted to know more I could ask. People were happy to help.
I would love to work for lloyds banking group, however I have wanted to be a teacher from a young age. Banking isn't for me, but I would recommend it to everyone else. I feel sad to leave and it will be hard to say goodbye to friends that I have made.
The Culture
Absolutely first class. We got to live with fellow interns so was out most weekends. We was living in a new city so could explore and be a tourist. I loved it.
Lloyds paid for our accommodation. Food was cheap, I walked to work. Drinks were expensive but we was in Edinburgh during the festivals.
Really good. The atmosphere of the festivals In Edinburgh were great. Loads of bars, clubs and restaurants. Too many to count.
Loads, however I chose not too, I was saving my money for a holiday. I did help organise volunteering days though.
