The Role
It has been a very enjoyable experience from which I have learnt a lot. I will look back to the past 3months with a lot of pride and satisfaction.
The team I as working with was very helpful and always wiling to listen and lend a helping hand. My work done over the past 3 months has been greatly appreciated and knowing that they will be using it in the near future is even more satisfying.
My manager was always helpful and willing to listen to any problems or queries I had about the project I was working on. He was critical when he needed to be and offered words of advice and encouragement.
First couple of weeks were not terribly busy as I was still starting out and needed to understand what I going to be doing on my project. However with passing weeks it got busier with meetings with researchers out of the office. Despite that I was always given sufficient time to finish my work.
I was given a lot of responsibility on a new research pilot project which they wanted to start. Plus I was doing work which they were going to be using in the next few months.
The skills learnt even simply the fact that i had to handle new responsibilitis will help me a lot in my future career. I learnt how to manage my time better, increased confidence in public speaking and learnt skills for life.
The Company
People were always very busy but they were always ready to share a joke and lighten the mood.
It was organised but I do belive that it could have been a little bit more organised in certain aspects.
Subsidised Canteen
I would like to work in certain departments within the company. They seems to be doing very interesting work which is very appealing to me.
The Culture
Good relationship with other interns. They were very nice and easy to get along with. The only problem is the time spent with them was very limited.
Life in London is extremely expensive. Even a simple drink costs £5! Not very easy to enjoy a social life unless you are willing to spend a lot!
A good nightlife in the vicinity wih a lot of bars. however as mentioned early it's pretty expensive.
Not many opportunities to get involved in other work activities in angel. However I wasn't looking for that during my time IN london.
