The Role
When I had challenging and interesting work it was great , but this wasn't always the case.
Despite the french view towards internships and the company's sometimes unpleasant attitude toward interns the people around us were always nice , respectful, helpful and easily made up for the bad corporate policies. an example is that inters were not invited to the X-mas dinner , but because of this my team paid for me when we had a team dinner. The company is very diverse and I have met many interesting people.
My job required a lot of autonomy which suited me , but I could have done with some more guidance or pressure sometimes.
Some days I could be very busy and pressed but usually the deadlines were plenty ahead of time that I never missed one, and sometimes I had none. So overall if one is organized then you will not be too busy, which allows full enjoyment of the region
I was trusted quite a lot whether about the information which I collected or the opinions I gave about presentations and campaigns. the main responsibility would have to be giving accurate information , managers trust we are doing good work and would not question me except if I messed up which luckily never happened. It was a refreshing g experience from university where we are constantly evaluated and criticized .
I cannot see much of what I learned being directly applicable to my studies , except maybe the general company & industry experience helping my understanding , and my IT knowledge enhancing my skills in IT classes. But I feel infinitely more prepared for my job upon gradation, and have learned so many things which simply cannot and shouldn't be taught in a classroom.
The Company
the people were nice , interesting , welcoming and helpful. there are loads of other interns to socialize with so I rate the office atmosphere very well!
My targets weren't always properly defined , so at times I lacked guidance in my placement , and the HR dptv aren't the best. but it all came together.
I had one formal training , but everything else I learned by myself or was taught by me predecessor
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Very poor , no grad program , and the vertical mobility within the company does not look good.
The Culture
With all the other intersn (we had a group of about 25 all from UK unis) we had an amazing time. We all ived within a 5mn walk of ea
