The Role
I enjoyed the team I worked with and a lot of the projects I worked on. There was a very friendly atmosphere and everyone got on, I was given meaningful work to do that had an impact and didn't feel like it was created just to fill my time. I'm not a huge fan of office environments as a whole so I couldn't give heigher than an 8/10
My colleagues were friendly and I felt like part of the team very quickly. Where I had done well I was told so and where I had room to improve I was also told. I wasn't treated as an intern at all.
My manager was very good, he weas supportive of external interests I had, and helped out when I was unsure of what to do. The only downside was that he was based elsewhere in the country so I only saw him face to face for a couple of days each week
Some days I was rushed off my feet, others I was waiting on calls or looking for more work to take on, It was never extreme though, I always had a main project that took up the bulk of my time, and other projects that varied in time consumption. This was a good system in my honest opinion
I have gained skills in many areas, presentation, project managment, networking and lots of industry specific skills. I've been given lots of opportunity to develop my skills also, from meetings with senior managers, to visitis to other sites.
The Company
The staff were all friendly but the office was very formal. We were in the head office so there was an expectation of complete professionalism at all times. I know in other offices there was a more casual atmosphere wich I would have preferred.
No formal training, but I was given time out of the day each week to attend talks on interesting subjects at anothe site. This was one of the most valuable experiences I had during the placement

The Culture
A lot of the other students live in a the same accomodation, I don't and instead live a fair distance away so feel I miss out on the social scene slightly. However we all grouped together to make it easier to communicate between ourselves using Whatsapp. This helped a bit but we were across multiple sites for work so didn't see each other much during the day
London is ridiculously expensive, the payment for the internship was OK but not amazing, especially for London, this meant budgets needed to be watched quite closely.
Nothing in the immediate vecinity but London is easily navigable so there is nightlife not too far away wherever you are. As a large city there is always something interesting happening somewhere so with a bit of effort it is possible.
As part of a charity challenge we had to comlete during the internship there were a few outside activities but not many. Those that were available were designed to rase money for charity so ended up being fairly expensive. I would have liked to have more meetups organised by the company.
