The Role
I truly enjoyed my experience here. I learnt a lot (not coffee making) and got to know the Deloitte working system very well. I would have stayed on for a longer period if given the chance. 3 weeks is not enough
Very. It feels like there is very little hierarchy when working. Yes, you have to respect them and report to them but they treat you just the same. Senior managers even bother asking where you are studying, where you stay and bother having a conversation and a laugh with you. This environment makes working here as in intern not intimidating and enjoyable.
The colleagues I've worked closely with are very supportive, even if you make simple mistakes they understand and then teach you what went wrong. They often check back to see if everything is fine, if you are having any trouble and if you need any help which is very reassuring. The feedback they give are very detailed, thus allowing me to learn from what they see fit..
I have been given work everyday that would fit my 9-5 working hours. It is not too busy to the point where you have to come in early or end late which is perfect.
Only at one client I was given big responsibilities because of the nature of the job, it was in the early stage of the audit thus needing to interact with clients. For other jobs, I was either in the middle or the end of the audit thus I just needed to do more of the behind the desk work; not so much of running around getting invoices and explanations from the client.
I have definitely developed my Excel skills a lot more and a greater understanding on accountings. It may not assist me in my degree but it would do great help if I take the permanent job where I would be ahead of those who are starting from scratch
The Company
It was a good balance of fun and professionalism. When it was time to work everyone was working but when we needed breaks, we often played short quizzes to step away from the numbers and spreadsheets. During lunch and non-working hours, it feels like everyone is a new person.
It was very well organised, I had not problem at all. All emails regarding the internship was replied promptly.
This firm has showed me that they are willing to invest in the best to give me the best development I am able to obtain
The Culture
Placement colleagues were really really great. Socials on Wednesdays was always the highlight of the week. Couldn't stop thinking about it during the weekend and for the next one to come on Thursdays!
Socialising was paid for by Deloitte which was great. I live in London already so I can't say much about it
Great!
Not much apart from socialising but I have heard a lot of good activities in Deloitte like playing league football in Prague!
