The Role
I enjoyed my placement as I was able to learn about many different areas within the bank and what it was like to work for a large organisation.
My colleagues were great. I was in a good team and both my line and task managers were supportive and friendly.
My line and task managers were focused on my personal development both within the internship and in general. They provided me with opportunities to develop skills.
Due to the nature of the role (Project Manager) there were some days where I would be very busy, and some days where not much was happening, but overall I had enough work to complete during my internship.
I was given one project to see through from the beginning to the end, where little input was recieved from my colleagues, only when needed. Other projects that I worked on were in collaboration with my colleagues.
I have further developed my organisational skills as a project manager which will help me in my final year of my degree.
The Company
As a whole the office was a friendly and upbeat place to work. Some days there were not many colleagues in so it could be quiet.
Overall the placement was very well organised. It was communicated to me late, but in enough time. Once in the office the IT was late but we were previously warned to expect this and had tasks to do without IT.
Lloyds banking group has invested in me throughout the scholarship by providing me with development opportunities and 2 paid summer internship with no pressure to join the organisation afterwards.

I have the opportunity to roll onto the Graduate programme, if I recieve a successful referal. This would then lead me to a role within the group.
The Culture
As I did not live in the same city as the other interns, I was not involved in the social aspect but from what I heard there was a great social atmosphere in the shared flats.
There are lots of good places to eat in Leeds that range from very cheap to an expensive meal out, same goes for drink, it just depends on where you want to eat/drink.
I did not go out in Leeds as I was communiting from Sheffield. We did have a few drinks on a team night out and the bars we went to were very varied.
Yes, there were a number of evening meals/drinks arranged throughout the interenship.
