The Role
A great year with lots of resposibility and opportunities to advance my knowledge.
Felt valued and utilised by colleagues who often asked for my opinion when putting together promotions or answering queries
Whenever I had a question about the products people were fantastic in helping and helping me learn.
Overall I had a good workload, but perhaps could have had a bit more to do at certain times during the month.
I had a lot of responsibilty in terms of interaction with partners and getting involved with pricing and creating new promotions myself. As well as being able to input into discussions about the products and being listened to a great deal.
I feel the skills I've learned here in terms of professionalism and interaction as well as time management will be invaluable for my final year of university and beyond.
The Company
Good team of people who all got on and as well as there being a professional atmosphere it was never boring and people were always having a laugh.
The overall job side of the work placement was fantastic, but I found that before the placement, there was no job description given and it wasnt really until my first day that I had any idea what it was I was going to be doing. I was lucky in the fact I have had a good job, but others working here were not so lucky. I also felt that the training days and 'IP' days were fairly basic and there wasnt much in the way of external training days.
The IP training days we were given were fairly basic, just given by internal IP support staff about general topics such as communication. To be fair my department offered my some additional training but the HR scheme they were on were unable to place me anywhere as there wasnt enough people on the training. I was given product training and support training for my job though.

With a good year and a 2:1 they offer you a fast track route onto the grad scheme which is great to have, there is also someitmes opportunites to come back into your department as a grad and continue working there.
The Culture
Fujitsu take on alot of IP's, in our year there were 30+ so we had a great social scene, mostly all the students lived in shared houses with each other in the same area of Reading so we never had a boring weekend,
Fairly average, we all lived in Reading so there were some student nights but generally not overpriced.
Reading has a fairly good nightlife, but where the job is based (Bracknell) I wouldn't advise heading out there with any high hopes!
Fujitsu has a good out of work scheme with a Football team, Cricket team and a sports/social club so there is alot of opportunites to get involved.
