The Role
Although I have little other long term experience to compare this internship against, I can thoroughly say I enjoyed my time at Lloyds and have learnt a huge amount.
My department was very busy which meant that I was given lots of responsibility and was able to get involved in lots of exciting projects. This meant that I felt valued by my colleagues because they were happy to entrust me with live projects and development which I really enjoyed.
Interning during the summer meant that people were constantly on holiday but working around that meant that I was provided with good guidance from management and I couldnt really complain about any specific time that I felt I needed more guidance from my supervisors.
I was constantly busy as I have mentioned due to the business of my team, but for me that wasn't a problem and I was happy to get involved in all that was thrown my way.

To a certain extent the analytical and IT skills that I have developed will help me in my degree, although they are not that linked from a detail point of view so it will only be to a certain extent.
The Company
The atmosphere in the department was quite light and there was an ability to have fun in the office. Having said that, we also had times when we had to get work done and it was quite intense.
Early on in the placement there was lots of planning for how we were going to start. However, it did not continue all the way through. Having said that my team helped out after that which could have been the idea in the first place.
The company provided me with many opppurtunites to improve my skill set and actively helped me try and achieve the greatest amount. Many of them personally helped me and spent time with me which was very helpful
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
There is a very well organised potential referral system with the company and it works off the back of the internship and so helps people to get a job post internship.
The Culture
I worked in central London, London is always going to be very expensive to go out in, however, this does not mean that we didnt socialise because we did, it was just expensive to do so.
