The Role
I really enjoyed my internship as I was given lots of responsibility which enabled me to understand my role and area of the business. My internship was long enough to become fully involved in projects which was very beneficial.
I felt very valued as i was involved in events which my colleagues attended and was also given work by numerous colleauges to complete. This showed how much they valued me as they believed I was capable of carrying out the work.
My manager and wider team were very supportive throughout my internship and were happy to give me any help which I needed.
I was fairly busy on a daily basis and as I had projects outisde of my area of the business it ensured that I coudl fill in time by working on those external projects.
Throughout my internship I was given a lot of responsibility especially for my main project as I was the key contact from my team when I was working with external and internal teams.
I can use the organisational skills and knowledge which I developed from my internship and apply them to my studies in Psychology as both Marketing and Psychology are closely linked. I will also be able to utilise these skills in my future career in Marketing.
The Company
Everyone was very friendly in my office and made me feel welcome from day 1. After attending events outside of work I was able to get to know my colleauges more which made me feel more comfortable.
Before I had started my internship, my manager had organised shadowing days with the external agencies which we work with. This was very beneficial as I was able to understand the Marketing process from an external and internal point of view.
I completed numerous webinars and training throughout my internship, some of which were mandatory and others optional. I felt that these helped me understand the bank as a whole as well as developed my personal skills.
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Very appealing as the graduate scheme offers many benefits which others don't and give me the opportunity to work within different teams to expand my knowledge.
The Culture
As I lived with some of my fellow interns I developed a large social network. This ensured that there was always someone to talk to and socialise with which made the internship even better.
As I worked in London the cost was fairly high however because it was a paid internship it doesn't mean I can't socialise. It all depends on where you go.
There are lots of options for nightlife as there are so many different areas to see in London which therefore means there are a lot of options to choose from.
My team held a sports day early on in my internship and so this was a brilliant opporunity to get involved and meet my wider team. we also had trips out of the office which were very fun and a good way to spend the day!
