The Role
It's a great place to work, really.
They all are very nice people. I was invited to Business Unit meetings, and placed in a team with regular meetings where I was asked for my progress just like everyone else. They really treat you as if you were another co-worker!
With weekly meetings to check on progress, and being next to them on the office, you're always welcome to ask for help, and you're usually answered promptly. Do take into account that if you take the internship in the summer, your manager might be in vacation for a week or so!
It was mostly fine, but if you finish something and are waiting for review, and don't know what to do next, then it might be a bit boring, and if you are leaving in 3 days and have barely started your project, you're really busy! It really intercalates several periods of low, medium and high busy-ness.
It depends on the intern, but I was personally asked to work on internal tools and software which will be delivered to clients!
Well, the thing is that there is more to programming than just programming, and that's what I've mostly learnt (how to comment properly, how to work with an already existing codebase, how to write documentation, etc.). They also give sessions for presentation skills, and the Vacathon can give you some great experiences. Personally, I would say I've vastly increased my programming skills, but also my time management, and leadership.
The Company
I would describe it as 'comfortable'.
The whole process is organised as best as they possibly can, and each year they try to do better. They take their internships really seriously!
