The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement at RMP Enterprise. Not only was I given so much responsibility, I also had the opportunity to get involved in many aspects of the business which is everything I wanted in a placement year. The company as a whole is really special and I am very proud to say I was apart of the RMP team.
I felt very valued by my colleagues and was not treated as the intern. I was the only placement student at RMP Enterprise and I was welcomed into the team straight away. I worked in different parts of the business and I felt valued throughout and knew the team were always there to help when I needed them.
At RMP Enterprise, I not only had a manager but I also had a mentor. I was given a huge amount of support from my manager and knew I could always go to him whenever I had a question or needed help with a task. I worked very closely with my manager and he always had the time to help and support me during my placement. I regularly met with him so we could discuss the tasks I had completed and also discuss what was coming up over the next 3 months. I had a mentor during my placement which gave me another person to go to when I needed support or guidance.
Each day completely varied as I had the opportunity to get involved in many aspects of the business. Some days were quieter than others but I always had something to do and was never bored. If I didn't have much to do, I made sure I would always speak to my manager and see if I could help anyone in the team or wider team.
I was given a great deal of responsibility during my placement year. I had the opportunity to run my own event called Society Showcase which I thoroughly enjoyed and was trusted to run the event exactly how I wanted to. I was also responsible to hire the Campus Promotions Assistants who act as the face of RateMyPlacement out on Campus. As well as this, one of my main responsibilities during the year was to look after the Social Media of the company which I thoroughly enjoyed.
One of the key things during my placement year I feel I have developed is confidence. During my year I have had the opportunity to do a number of presentations which will really help me when I return to University. As well as this, I feel I have also learnt how to manage my time effectively as some days during my placement I had many tasks to get through. RMP has also taught me so much about working with people, whether this is with colleagues or new people at a number of events. Communication has been a massive part of my role and RMP has really helped me develop this skill. This will really assist me in my degree studies and beyond!
The Company
If you were to step into the RMP office, you would realise straight away how fantastic the atmosphere is. The RMP culture is amazing and I couldn't have asked for a better team to be apart of. Everyone is extremely helpful and it was clear from the moment I started my placement at the company that everyone is out to help each other. Although the office was always busy, everyone was always extremely friendly!
The placement as a whole was really organised and I had the opportunity to get involved in many parts of the business. The placement was also completely different to the previous placement student and there were different projects I got involved with such as running the Society Showcase event and hiring the Campus Promotions Assistants. I am confident the new placement student will really enjoy his placement and will have the chance to get involved in so much!
I received a number of coaching and training sessions during my placement such as Presentation Training and Stress Management training. The presentation training was extremely beneficial as this helped me for presentations during my placement year and will be very helpful when I return to University. The training and coaching as a whole was great and I made sure I tried to get involved in as many as possible.

I have been told I would be welcomed back after I finish University and last year 3 out of 4 placement students returned to the company! The company is so fantastic but I am currently deciding what it is I want to do following university.
The Culture
The social scene was great among colleagues. There were regular post work drinks on a Friday as well as a quarterly socials which have included bowling, a pedibus around London, a Christmas social and Sports Day!
The cost of living in London is very expensive! We had a few bars around the office which weren't badly priced, we often went to these bars after work on a Friday, Apart from that, you would really struggle to find many cheap places in London- I was shocked coming from Liverpool to London to see just how expensive it really was!
Our offices were based in Westminster and there were many pubs around our offices but not as many bars. However, there were still plenty of places to go to and when the team went along, it was always guaranteed to be good fun!
There wasn't really many activities organised by the company specifically, but we organised a girls social and went out for dinner during the end of my placement.
