The Role
I have really enjoyed my internship at PwC, I have worked on a variety of clients and I have learnt a vast amount given that I don't have an accountancy background.
Everyone I have worked with has been really welcoming and open to questions. I was completing work for clients that I would be doing if I was an Associate and always thanked for the work I completed.
I was assigned a "People Manager" and a "Buddy" and both were very supportive throughout my internship, they were happy to answer any questions/doubts/worries I had. I was also strongly supported by all my colleagues on my jobs.
I was busy throughout the days but I never had to work very late, my general working hours were 9:15- 6/7, some days I would finish earlier and the latest I worked was 8.
I was given what I felt was quite a lot of responsibility. I was given the same work I would be given as an Associate who had just joined the firm and I was also speaking to the client from the first day on client site, this allowed me to develop a range of skills and experience what it would be like to work here as a graduate.
I further developed my business awareness which will help me in my final year as an Economics student. In terms of the team working skills I developed, these will help me in the societies I am part of at university. Beyond university, I developed a wide range of skills and awareness/understanding of accounting principles that will strongly help me throughout my career.
The Company
A very friendly, welcoming atmosphere.
The organisaiton of the internship was very impressive. At the start of the internship we had a weeks training, we spent 3 days in a hotel which was an amazing, fun 3 days and the other two days in our office! I then spent 5 weeks working on a variety of clients with flexibility to get involved with many different things such as shadowing.
The firm invested a significant amount into all its interns. As mentioned, at the start of the internship we had a weeks training, we spent 3 days in a hotel which was an amazing, fun 3 days and the other two days in our office! The internship is also paid and you can claim expenses when working on client site.

Working from home
The future employment prospect of gaining a place on the graduate scheme is extremely appealing.
The Culture
PwC is a very sociable firm, thoroughout my internship there were many social events organised, often within the individual team working on a client and also amongst other interns.
I did my internship in London, as everybody knows London is fairly expensive but there are reasonably priced places as well!
Very good nightlife in Central London, as expected!
Given that I was an intern for 6 weeks, there wasn't a vast amount of time to get involved in other opportunities. That said, if you work there full time there are a wide range of opportunities that sound really interesting and fun!
