The Role
It was a great experience, the bank was quite flexible and tried to meet your needs as much as they could.
My team was amazing, the amount of support I got from my Buddy and Mentor was really good. I worked on a project with my team and was delegated important tasks
My manager and team were there to help every step of the way and provided me with constant feedback and guidance.
I worked 9-5 and was never overworked. The team was quite considerate and they always made sure that i wasn't feeling stressed out.
Quite a bit of responsibility was given to me, I worked on a solo project and on a project with my team. The work assigned to me was the same as that of someone who had been working in the team for 4 years.
The bank made sure that i was assigned to a team which matched my interests and helped build my skills as well. They took my team placement request into consideration as well and matched me with a team meeting my requirements.
The Company
The technology office is quite chilled out and the atmosphere is like that of a technology firm. Everyone on the team is quite a lot of fun and always went out for lunches together. The team also went out for drinks every Friday. The team took the work seriously but always had room for fun.
The internship was quite well organized. The first week comprised of division specific training and presentations by different teams within your division. There were also quite a lot of networking events and a Friday Night drinks session every two weeks. The highlight of the internship was the division specific networking event at Bounce.
The first week of the internship was division specific training and an overview of the different teams within the division. Once you started work at your desk further amount of training was provided specific to what was required by your team/project. The BAs on the team were quite helpful and had a 1 hour session with me every week where they helped me out with any Business related queries/problems i had.

The bank is quite flexible with your needs. They offer you a chance to change divisions and even do another summer internship if you're still eligible the year after. The job prospects are really good and the internship is a great way to getting a job offer at the firm.
The Culture
All interns spent quite a lot of time together. The training sessions require alot of team work so you get to know your fellow placement colleagues quite well. As the internship progresses all the interns helped setup shadowing sessions for other interns. The social events setup by the bank also helped bring everyone closer.
The cost of living in London is quite high and everything is very expensive, but the bank considers that and gives you quite a hefty bonus to help you out with everything. The Canary Wharf area is quite social and there are pubs everywhere.
Canary wharf has a very social scene and the nightlife in London is awesome. The clubs are amongst the best in the world and are a great experience in themselves.
The bank set up a volunteering event that was mandatory for all interns. The bank also has quite a lot of social clubs which organize events throughout the year. Anyone can join these clubs if they have an interest. You are also allowed to setup your own club if you want to and the bank helps provide you with support.
