The Role
I enjoyed my internship tremendously. The whole programme was very well structured, ranging from a great induction training which brought together interns throughout the UK, an office tour which got everyone excited to start, some side projects that runs along the internship which brought out lots of creativity and time management all the way to the closing event which marks the end of the internship. I made plenty of new friends in the course of this internship who will definitely be in contact in future, I felt valued by my fellow colleges and I received support as well as guidance that made by internship a lot more interesting.
My colleagues treated me with upmost respect from the first day I am introduced into the team. Everyone treats others nicely and I never once felt as though I am an intern/ outsider as we conversed as though we knew one another for some time and was invited out always for any social gatherings.
From the first day of the office tour, I was introduced to my buddy and people manager (every intern is assigned a buddy who will be some sort of an informal contact person who you can ask totally everything upon starting with the firm whereas the people manager will be someone who keeps updated with your personal development in the firm). Although there were some mixed up at the start, the minor issue was solved promptly. During each engagement, the team members are happy and eager to answer any questions raised as well gave proper coaching on approaching the task assigned.
As it is not the peak season for Audit, I have a great balance between working hours and my own personal time. I was still receiving a good share of responsibility during my internship and manage to head home everyday averagely around 5.30 p:m - 6.00 p:m and join my friends/ colleagues for socials after.
There is no need to worry if this internship would only be a paper pushing or making coffee kind of routine as it won't. I was entrusted from the start with a variety of responsibility during my internship ranging from the planning processes, gathering evidences and completion parts of an engagement. The seniors will give proper guidance and coaching and it was very fulfilling to see that once I got better with what they assigned me to do, I was given the trust to see through a whole entity till the end.
The things that I learnt through the audit engagements would definitely help me in preparing my final year dissertations. In addition, skills such as determination, decision making and the ability to foster meaningful relationship with the wider community of the firm are soft skills that will be very relevant and beneficial for a lifetime.
The Company
I was based in London at the More London office and it was an excellent office with a stunning view. Everyone were very friendly, very professional and when the weekend arrives, the office gets even livelier with plans for the Friday evening etc.
As mentioned earlier, the internship programme was well organised from the online recruitment process, the follow through with updates and feedbacks, induction programme out of London and how well updated they kept the fellow interns of the expectations that the firm has on them at every stage of the placement.
They have invested their time in providing proper training that be beneficial for work, inspiring the interns through meeting the partners of the firm in the induction programme and equipped us with the best tech equipments to ease how job.

PwC is definitely one of the best, if not the best professional services firm to join for future employment prospects. They are a global company which means that there are plenty of opportunity to deal with a diverse group of people to widen one's horizons as well as opportunity to get seconded abroad.
The Culture
Absolutely! The interns are amazingly friendly and I had the privilege to join them out for drinks after office hour, tour around London for first timers, bowling, pool, and lots more of activities. Everyone is so welcoming and this made all the outings rather enjoyable.
London is relatively expensive in general, having lived in London already made it easier but still costly for me
The More London building has one of the most breathtaking views any office can get in London. It has a good amount of drinking spots and restaurants nearby.
Yes, I've met colleagues who are still pursuing their passion such as charity, marathons etc outside of work. For me, I've been interested in knowing China in general, thus I joined the China Interest Group who organises a variety of activities outside work such as the dragon boat race, laser tag, badminton and more.
