The Role
Thoroughly enjoyed my internship within Lloyds Banking Group. Felt very welcome and given responsibility.
Everyone was very friendly and treated you the same as everyone else. There were few barriers to cross if you wanted to speak to senior management which is fantastic.
Everyone who I worked with and in other departments have been extremely helpful and were always there if there was a question you had.
It depends. Some days it was the usual 9-5 with an hour lunch then others it would be 8-5 with lunch at your desk. Generally due to meetings
Lots. I was put into the deep end managing a project with 10 stakeholders within in my second week. It was a steep but very rewarding learning curve
Building communication and the ability to pass on an idea etc. to a number of different individuals. Ability to coordinate a group which in some situations can be tense due to time restraints etc. Use of Microsoft Project and Excel reconfirm much of the stuff you learn for a semester or two at university.
The Company
Very sociable and relaxed. However, everyone worked hard and got their work done.
The initial period was a little slow to get onto the computer systems but good overall. Clear communication at all times.
I completed my APMIC in project management and am therefore leaving with a certificate which is fantastic to complete in such a short period of time.
Flexi Time
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
The graduate schemes are very attractive and definitely a consideration
The Culture
Yes, living with interns and also having events with colleagues tehre was plenty opportunity to socialise.
I lived in Cardiff so most things were relatively cheap compared to London etc.
Cardiff is quite small however I thoroughly enjoyed the nightlife especially during the Rugby games. Definitely recommend Cardiff for city to live in for a period of time.
Mostly charity related activities.
