The Role
Really enjoyed my 10 weeks working for Mace and highly recommend this internship to anybody that is thinking about a possibly career within the construction industry.
I felt that I was able to integrate into the teams that I worked within very quickly
I was given excellent support and guidance by my Line Manager, supervisors and everyone that I worked with or for over the duration of the internship
I was very busy for most of the internship. However, there were a few days when I had little or no work to do. However, due to the fact that I was working directly with my managers it was easy for me to find additional bits of work to do.
I was given a sufficient level of responsibility. Within both of the teams that I worked for (Consultancy Quality Assurance & Project Managment) I had a large bit of work along with another bit of work that I would recive on a day by day basis
Although I can not take back any hard knowledge to my geography degree studies. This job has given me the necessary insight into an industry which I hope to work in following university and has helped me improve my organisational skills drastically.
The Company
I worked in the main Mace office, which is open plan and had a nice lively atmosphere
The internship was very well organised and ran extremely smoothly
The Culture
I was able to live at home so it was fine. However, I could see it being very expensive if you had to rent a flat in London.
