The Role
I enjoyed my internship to the fullest. I met a host of amazing people here aside from the many new things I learnt. Indeed I have formed global connections.
I felkt very valued by my colleagues. This was demonstrated in the fact that some colleagues will come to me to seek my opinion on a subject/
I had the best managers on my various rotations. One particular manager had a daily catch-up meeting to discuss projects I was doing and ways he could help
Super Busy.. On most days I had a lot going on. I was quite proactive and sought assignment from evryone on my desk. For that reason I was relatively busy .
My managers gave me a lot of responsibility that added value to the whole team. For instance I summarised daily research reports which is circulated to the team.
The training I recieved were very helpful because prior to this internship I had little exposure to the financial markets and how it operates
The Company
Very lively and busy. Because I sit on the equities trading floor at such a big bank it was very noisy with a lot going on. It was entertaining as well as a lot of the traders had interesting characters
The internship was well organized. At every point in time you knew exactly whatr you were supposed to do. HR was also very visible to answer any pressing concerns
We went through several trainig sessions. I did two weeks of pretraining before joining my desk. Also, we went to Bloomberg and Reuters for separate training as well. I had access to Bloomberg and Reuters
