    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • It has been a really useful placement, and I feel I have been well challenged, and learnt a lot about the HR Function.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I have taken leadership on many projects, and colleague have often asked my view point on things. Therefore, I feel like I am a valued member of the team.

  • My line manager has been great providing me with many different oppurtunities but also approriately challenging and setting me interlectually challeging tasks.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Very busy I have daily things that I work on, good stakeholder management has been key to success on my placement.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given responsbility on work that was very senior and important to be finished by a speific date!

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Skills andevleopment wise the internship as been invaluable in the sense that I have a good understanding of HR and it's demands, and will help post university life.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Everyone in the office is really friendly and willing to help in any way that they can. All were willing to talk more about HR and more speifically about their role. It was really insightful and almost always lead into more work.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The placement was veyr well organized, I has work to do from day one! Understadning came with doing the work. Projects sufficently challenged me, and I was always williing to go that extra mile for both the colleagues and the people who would benefit as a result.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I had to seek out work by msyself, but once that network was made, the trust cam as I staretd to deliever. By the end of the placement I have been leading two lrager projects which cover both Commercial Banking and Consumer Finance.

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Very appealing for two reasons. The people and colleagues live and breath the values of the company and really try and do the best the possibly can for their customers. Secondly the company just has good prospects I feel very at home here and the code and values of the company are in some sense intuutive to my own moral code.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Very good, there has been a group of 40 students which proivded every opportunity to enjoy the sites and a good social life.`

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Edinburgh was relatively expensive, however, no different to any other city.

  • Good

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Yes I have been playing Gaelic Football for a local Edinbirgh Club.
