The Role
Once I was given work to do independently and be responsilbe I started to really settle in with my internship and enjoyed the work.
I was given the responsibiliy to complete work that would be used within the industry and feedback was readily available, I was also given the freedom to persue my own work interests.
My manager was very busy so I would only be able to get feedback on a weekly basis however my colleagues would give me support and guidance at least once a day.
This varied, some days I stuggled to find work whilst tohers I was buried in work. What I really enjoyed was the ability to just shut off when a working day was over and was encouraged to not check e-mails.
I was given a variety of tasks that offered high levels of responsibility but the final decision on most of my research / work was upto my manager. Whenever work was completed it would usually be checked and several itterations requested before I could send something off.
I have a much broader knowledge of the working world. I think on projects such as the one I worked on computer skills are essential, Microsfot Excel is a fantastic tool at compiling vast amounts of informations and therefore mastering this would really help in a career path.
The Company
My area were quite close, a mixed variety of younger and older workers gave it a good mix of learning from the experts and socialising with the younger crowd at lunch etc. As for the rest of the office we didn't tend to mix with them a lot due to being a joint venture but this should be an area of improving to promote the office atmosphere.
Initiallty I was a bit worried as I didn't have a log in for my computer but having my own desk made me feel part fo the team and weekly reviews of my performance gave me objectives to be working on during my internship. I would like to have attended more meetings to broaden my knowledge of the business and explore different areas.
There were several opportunities to develop yourself as an intern, for example I attended a workshop on Innovation training and there was a huge empahasis on innovation throughout the whole internship.

Financial Bonus
I would be very happy to work for this company however location is of key improtance for me, I was very lucky to be placed in London as I could still spend time with my family.
The Culture
Within my team no however in the feautre they are planning charity events and attedning seminars however most of the social aspect came from toher departments such as bowling and football after work.
London is pretty expensive and most socialising within the company was done over food, costs were mostly paid for which helped me a lot!
There are plenty of pubs and bars to attend after work, I went with colleagues on occasions but most the time I would meet friends in the city on other internships.
A few events were available but not many, I think this is because the days are long and after work most people want to go home and relax.
