The Role
Great experiance, got on really well with everybody and was given some responsibility over the placement period.
They trusted me to go out onsite and set out. Took part in sports activities such as football and other team building occasions and got to know the team really well.
everybody was keen to teach and guide you through the placeement.
Although there were some quiet days, generally i was kept really busy and given plenty of tasks that i could get on with in my own time.
considering i'd just completed my first year at university, it was nice that they let me manage a subcontractor. i ended up looking after 3 gangs of 4 men, plus the foreman for several weeks.
helps you see what they're teaching at university is relevant to onsite. Sure my surveying modules will benefit!! The skills actually learnt onsite will however be useful for my future career.
The Company
friendly and full of good banter
HR was abit disorganised at the start, but the setup improved as the placeement continued.
as a sponsered student they invest both time and money into my training throughout the year.
