About You
Better than a wasp sting, worse than ice cream.
I didn't feel very valued at all, I would go as far as to say that I felt very isolated from the team with little effort made to integrate me. Property is usually a very social industry however I didn't get out the office at all during my time there excluding getting lunch with one of the grads on my first day.
The work I was doing was of a very basic nature and as such required little support. Where I required assistance though it was always forthcoming.
I would say that I have been assisted because the internship scheme at Savills does offer considerable oversights into its various departments. This will assist me going forward when I am considering where I want to apply to and what roles that I feel I will be best suited to applying to.
The Company
The insight program at Savills is very well structured, yet lack interaction with graduated.
I feel like it was very team dependant and for me I think I was unfortunate in this respect. largely I believe that the reason I didn't feel integrated into my team was a result of the fact that they have all been extremely busy and have had numerous member's on holiday. As a result I thought that the atmosphere was not the bubbly and fun one I have associated with internships in the past.
Savills invested very little into me in terms of training, instead having me do basic tasks requiring little knowledge. the same applies to personal development, however there was a good fee earners lunch that I attended and enjoyed.
I think because of its shortness it didn't really help me to get a broad overview of its atmosphere. It did give a broad understanding of the various departments and their roles though.
No a lot - See above.
Fairly unhelpful.
Everything Else
I feel the salary was good considering the opportunities I had as part of it.
yes - fee earners lunch was good. Social rounder's however was pretty bad with only two graduates choosing to join us.
Ok, only in company and with limited fee earners which we were unable to prep on before hand.
No.
Depends. If it was to do exactly what I have done then no, I wouldn't. however I know from talking to the other interns that some of them have been able to do much more fun activities and enjoyed their time here.
