The Role
I really enjoyed the internship, I felt that there were ample opportunities for networking, learning about the firm, its service lines and whether it was the right firm for myself.
My colleagues continuously asked me how I was coping, coached me through everything, were extremely patient, encouraged questions and treated me as if I was a long standing member of the firm.
My People manager, buddy and trainers were extremely helpful in helping me get settled in. My buddy and people manager maintained frequent contact with me throughout the process and tried their best to make it a more enjoyable experience.
Every day in Assurance was busy. Regular hours were from around 8:30am-6pm. None of this was facetime, I was always given tasks which I really liked as it meant I was never sitting around.
I was given several individual areas which were substantial parts of the audit and regularly spoke to clients on my own account. This was definitely as if you were a new joiner as opposed to an intern.
Coming from a finance degree, this internship strengthened my understanding of the accounting world as well as the world of finance in general. Seeing how big companies finances work and the role PwC play in first person has put me in an excellent position going forward.
The Company
The people are the best thing about PwC! Everyone is really friendly and fun and create a great atmosphere.
The internship was extremely well organised. I knew exactly what I would be doing from the outset.
The company invested a heavy deal in my training. The best training was when I was on client sites for 4 weeks, practical experience is invaluable.
The Culture
My colleagues regularly went out for meals social events as did my intern group. I stayed in constant contact with them all and we all formed a nice group.
Not that significant
Not an area of interest to myself so I wouldn't know.
Not so much during the internship aside from the usual social events
