The Role
I was given a variety of work, which was checked and feedback was always given!
I felt that everyone was friendly and willing to give me tasks to do which did have an importance attached. Some work was regarding and ongoing case. Other tasks were in relation to a mediation.
My supervisor was extremely helpful, always sending emails around the department asking for others to give me work. He was always checking on my progress and how I was doing. Felt great that there was someone there making sure I'm ok, especially in the first few days at the firm.
Each day was a roller coaster! Filled with work, social events client meetings. It wasn't a manic rush, but there was that feeling of urgency which I think is essential if one is to prosper and work hard at one's job.
As mentioned above, I was given a good amount of responsibility judging by the cases I was working on, and the tasks I was told to carry out.
For my degree, I sit and read books, and analyse cases. At Nabarros it's a world of meeting clients, dealing with people, interpreting where the pitch is heading. It's a combination of various skills, which we are never taught at university. Therefore I believe these last 3 weeks have been more valuable for me, than my last 2 years at university. I am very thankful I was given the opportunity to participate in this summer vacation scheme, and really hope I'll be able to come back here in two years' time as a trainee.
The Company
Extremely friendly! Everyone was welcoming, and truly made me feel like part of the team!
Extremely organised ! We were given a timetable of various events which ranged from department meetings, to social events, and we were given time to work in our assigned departments as well as squeezing in time for project Nabarro.
I think the time and effort that went into organizing this vacation scheme must have been immense! So I think the company invested a lot in each and every one of us!
Subsidised Canteen
Financial Bonus
My partner interview is tomorrow and we'll find out later in the summer whether we have been successful in our training contract applications. So this one's a bit hard to answer at the moment, but I think compared to the other places where I have done work experience I felt that the environment here would really suit me!
The Culture
Everyone got on really well. Very friendly and always willing to help each other out, so it was great to be in such a great team!
I live quite close to the office, so I'm pretty used to the prices around this area. When social events were organised by the firm this didn't cost us anything.
This is London - so if you've been extremely efficient, there are plenty of things to do. The nightlife is really more in the area of Leicester Square and Picadilly Circus.
On the 3rd day of my vacation scheme, me and a fellow vac schemer went off to play cricket with Nabarro's team against a client.
