    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • In a nutshell: great experience, that pushes your limits and makes you a better person - both personally and professionally.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Colleagues are very helpful and keen to give feedback.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Management is very keen to give guidance and help, however there is a huge emphasis on acting independently.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was not bored for two months, that is for sure :)

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • It was a balance between high level projects that have an impact and professional assessments. However, as interns cannot interact with clients, a huge chunk of the real role's responsibility was obviously not assigned to me.

    3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • JP Morgan is the best company I know so far that invests so much money, time and energy into developing its potential employees' skills. 10 out of 10!

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • A combination of lot of action and a very friendly atmosphere! Never heard anyone saying a bad word or being negative. Astonishing.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Quite organised. As a huge company, naturally JP Morgan has its own internal processes that might not be perfect all the time. However, these are more the characteristics of a large organisation than that of the specifically the company itself (i.e. proper information flow).

    3/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company invested in me a tremendous amount of money, time and energy. All the senior people were very helpful and gave interns all the time they needed to ask questions. The program has been rigorous and extensive from a learning perspective, including formal assessments and sometimes brutally honest feedback sessions. Again, 10 out of 10.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • International Travel

    Company Parties/Events

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • The organisation offers excellent opportunities for employees who want to grow. It is also very flexible in terms of the long term role or location: people can try themselves in a new setting overtime.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • People are generally helpful, friendly and honest in their feedback. There are also occasional social gatherings.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • London is brutally expensive :(

    2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Did not have much chance to go out, but London in general offers great opportunities for nightlife.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Not too much time for that!

    2/5
