The Role
Thoroughly enjoyed my placement, although some tasks were relatively dull.
I did feel valued by my team as I was given a good level of responsibility, and tasked with a fair amount of work.
I rarely worked with managers or senior level employees but my mentor and recently qualified surveyors were very supportive.
Relatively busy. There was always work available to do, if I asked for more work I was given it.
A good level of responsibility, not too much. All tasks I was given suited my level of ability.
Having previously carried out a placement year I had acquired many of the skills that you would expect to pick up on a 1 month internship. However I did manage to expand my knowledge and develop on my skills further.
The Company
firstly a bit unsociable and not the friendliest, although as I got to know more people this was no longer a problem.
very good, a series of talks was arranged, in addition some social events took place.
no real training. Although employees at the company took time to get me involved in work and help me learn new things.
Sports and Social Club
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
very appealing. Graduate opportunities are said to be very good.
The Culture
Yes, summer interns arranged social events, drinks, lunches etc.
I commuted from Hertfordshire, cost £75 a week on train tickets. Socialising in London was expensive but this was expected.
very good, a lot of options.
Not particularly, only events set up for summer scheme students. Drinks after work sometimes.
