The Role
The internship was very interesting and it was made enjoyable through regular social events with interns and employees. Social events were also a good chance to network and learn more about different roles and divisions.
I felt very valued by my team as I was given real responsibility and an actual role which was essential to the business. Because I knew the work I submitted was being used by more senior colleagues, it motivated me to work hard and constantly improve the quality of my work.
Support and guidance was always present on the internship. The best part of working at the firm was that we were not spoon fed and were given a chance to work independently. However I could ask for help at any point and there would always be a member of the team willing to push me in the right direction which was great.
The day was very busy in that alongside my daily tasks, we had several projects to work on throughout the internship. So at times where I had completed my work for the team, I was encouraged to complete the projects to a high enough standard. I wouldn't have wanted it any other way, it just maximised my time to learn during the 10 weeks!
I would say I was given a good amount of responsibility during the internship. I was given more towards the end after becoming more comfortable with the work environment and programs used which was great as we weren't thrown straight into the deep end.
I would say that the soft skills I received will impactful my final year at university quite significantly. This is the most structured experience I have had in that there is a set amount of time on a daily basis that I need to complete tasks which are essential. The main skills I have developed and will retain are organisation, efficiency and time management.
The Company
The atmosphere at the office is very team orientated. Everybody helps each other to get the job done and I never felt intimidated or excluded from the team. Having said that, there is also a high level of determination amongst the division to achieve the best results.
The internship was well structured and efficient in most ways. All our events were planned towards the beginning and we had our diaries updated with new events as soon as the times were available.
A lot of time was invested into us throughout the internship, but it was also down to us to seek more. Everybody in the office was willing to help when they could and we could set up times to go through other parts of the business or seek help with our projects in our own time.

Company Parties/Events
Very appealing. I met some of the brightest individuals in the industry I believe and had a very steep learning curve throughout. I would definitely come back.
The Culture
There was a good social atmosphere amongst the interns as everybody is ultimately in the same position. Without building good relationships with the other interns it would be difficult to enjoy the experience everybody is sharing together.
The city can be expensive to live in. My accommodation was around £225 per week to live in central London and living costs also quite expensive. It was very convenient however, walking to work saved a lot of time.
The nightlife in the area is great. There are options to go to clubs, pubs, restaurants and other entertaining events all the time. They could be expensive but there is a great variety of things to do.
Opportunities outside of work are present within the different networks the firm have created. It was also down to us interns to organise activities in the evenings and weekends to get to know each other more.
