The Role
I enjoyed the new experience of working in a corporate enviroment and interacting professionally with team members. There were moments that were not very exciting but on the whole I enjoyed it.
I felt like my colleagues liked having me around and I got on well with them. I was included in team discussion and my opion was regularly sought. I feel like I was well valued by my colleagues on the whole.
My line manager was good at providing interesting and stimulating work for me to do. He was very approachable and was happy to provide advice and answer any questions that I had. I feel happy with this aspect of my internship.
There were busy days and quite days. In general I had plenty to be getting on with. There were times when there wasn't much to do expect online reading but moments like this are pretty much unavoidable.
Most of the tasks that I was given were relevent tasks that my line manager was wanting completed. Most of the work I was involved in will continue to be used after I finish my internship. Its good to know that I have had some sort of an impact on the team.
I feel my confidence and teamworking skills improved over the course of my placement. Both of these are very useful to have. I aquired some new technical skills by working on tasks requiring excel quite a lot.
The Company
The general atmosphere in the office was positive, friendly and professional. There were a few minor instances were this was not the case but nothing ever affected me. I was always treated well and welcomed as part of the team.
The organisation was very good. Very few problems of any kind arose. I always knew who to ask for support and help and everything ran smoothly. My line manager was well informed as to what was going on.
There were a few webinars organised and aimed at interns and these were very interesting and informative. I feel, however, that more of these could have been done which would have been great given how good the few we had were.

Company Parties/Events
I feel like I would definitely consider working for Lloyds Banking Group. I have enjoyed the atmosphere and am proud of the company's ethos and policies. I feel like prospects for advancement are solid and support and mentoring is excellent.
The Culture
Yes, there were many social events organised and interns were in general provided accomodation together which would make it easier to meet people and socialise with fellow interns.
Accomadation was paid for by Lloyds Banking Group which obviously covered a large portion of living costs over the 10 weeks of the internship. Food costs were pretty standard and there are plenty of cheap social options available.
Edinburgh has a good nightlife with a large variety of clubs all whithin walking distance to the provided accomodation. It is possible to have a very cheap night or a very expensive one due to the great variety.
Yes there are plenty of sports clubs around edinburgh that are welcoming, there are a large number of leisure facilities.
