The Role
It was very enjoyable, I really liked my team and the work I was doing.
It was a good mixture of being treated like a proper employee and being given the training/guidance that I needed.
The help and support I got was fantastic. Everybody was more than happy to spend time explaining concepts and giving me guidance on projects.
Towards the beginning it was mainly training so I wasn't that busy, but as time went on and as I was given more work to do, I became busier. I wouldn't say, however, that I was over-worked.
I was given more and more responsibility as the internship progressed. By the end, I was given a lot of responsibility with the projects I was working on.
The training will be incredibly useful for a future career in the investment banking industry, but maybe not so much for my degree program.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office was always very friendly and lively. Everyone was willing to talk to me about any questions I had.
The first week (training week) was very well organised, and so was my time in the office. It was always explained to me at the beginning of a project what I'd be doing and when deadlines were.
I really felt like the firm invested a lot into us. Even after training week there were opportunities for further training.
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Healthcare/Dental
Very appealing, it felt like the kind of environment I want to work in.
The Culture
There was a really good social scene within my team and the other interns. Regular socials with both groups were arranged.
The cost of living was quite expensive, as was the travel to and from work.
The nightlife was very good, there was always something to do.
There was always adverts around for different social/sports clubs that I could get involved in.
