The Role
Very enjoyable, the team I was placed with were incredibly friendly and helpful and it was always good to be in the office.
I was given real responsibilities on a daily basis meaning I felt I was contributing and performing useful tasks and adding to the projects.
Managers were very supportive, allowing me to attend events and training that would be relevant and useful (and sometimes just interesting!) and ensuring that I was happy with the work I was undertaking.
On occasions there were times when I could have been more fully occupied, but being proactive and having access to training materials meant that this was limited and probably unavoidable given the nature of the work in my area.
I was given the opportunity to contribute on a daily basis and given major responsibility for monitoring and updating a large and complex project plan, and then relaying this information to the project team.
The overview of the role of project managers, the access to software and training, and being able to meet and spend significants amounts of time with people working in the field was an invaluable introduction.
The Company
Being placed in a smaller office than the main HQ meant that it was sometimes quieter than I would like, however, I was able to meet with other interns regularly and attend events in other buildings.
Well structured series of events, along with flexibility to experience areas of personal interest.
Access to relevant software and training materials was excellent.
Graduate scheme very appealing, internship bypasses initial graduate recruitment stage, I start in September!
The Culture
Regularly met with other interns for lunch and also after work socialising, also interns are invited to graduate social events. Also socialised with colleagues in the office regularly after work.
Typical for central London!
Again, London, so broad range of things going on all the time.
