The Role
The firm was very friendly, I enjoyed the work and could definitely see myself working there in the future if I am given the opportunity.
Everyone I met was very friendly.
My supervisor gave me sufficient support that if I needed to know anything, she would tell me, but also she gave me sufficient independence so that I could use my initiative.
I was given tasks everyday, and there was always a task for me to do when I had finished other tasks.
When people asked me for information, they were able to rely fully on the answer that I gave. Also, a piece of work that I completed was sent out to the client.
They have enabled me to see what it is like to work in such a successful, reputable law firm, and therefore, what it will hopefully be like for me in the future.
The Company
Everyone was very friendly and seemed to enjoy their jobs.
It was structured very well and it was obvious that a lot of work had gone into the organisation.
I was one of about 48-64 people chosen from 500 people for potential trainees , and therefore, it is very important for the firm to choose the right Vacation Scheme students as the firm usually pays the GDL and LPC fees for people that have not yet studied it.
To work for Walker Morris would give me a very good reputation for clients or future employment if required.
The Culture
All the other Vacation Scheme students and trainees were very friendly and I thoroughly enjoyed the social time after work.
It is fairly expensive in Leeds.
It was very good and all of the trainees and other students seemed to enjoy themselves.
I socialised on four out of five nights during the week.
