About You
I had quite an enjoyable time at Linklaters. There were adequate social events as well as talks to give us more indepth views into the firm. The lawyers were also nice.
I felt a little valued in both seats at my firm. Although I was given substantial work to do, occasionally I felt ignored by some lawyers who seemed too busy to give me any time.
I received ample guidance at both seats - my mentors were incredibly warm and helpful, always willing to explain even rudimentary points of law to me.
Even though I did not really develop any skills, I feel that the insight I got into Linklaters in my three weeks there really allowed me to get a good feel of the firm.
The Company
The insight was excellently structured - HR did an amazing job in arranging many talks, social outings and other activities to keep us interns occupied. They were also really good about keeping in touch with us to make sure that everything was going okay.
The office was positively buzzing with work - the lawyers, while rather overworked, were always friendly and willing to talk to me.
They did not really invest in me - we had a few talks, but I did not really feel as if those talks added much to my personal training and / or development.
Quite good.
I feel like the insight really helped me understand the company culture, because I was able to spend 3 weeks at two different seats in hte firm.
Quite valuable.
Everything Else
I was given £300 a week - adequate to cover rent and other expenses in expensive London, such as food, and transport.
Yes.
Pretty good - there was a speedboat ride (which was fantastic, down the Thames), a cooking class and a really nice dinner.
Yes.
