    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • It was exciting at first but after it became quite repetitive and I felt I was not allowed to do the best I could do. Had little control over what I did during the year and was left up to the managers to place me where ever they needed the help rather than where I found my main interests lie.

    2/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Very friendly colleagues, but would've liked it more if I was among the same age group.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Support was given when asked for.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • There was never a balance. Periods of boredness, left not doing anything even after asking for something to do. Sometimes an intense hour of work but not more than that.

    2/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Reasonable but not anything significant

    3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I felt I benefited more when I was out of the office, out on training days and visits rather than being in the office. Inside the office the tasks were menial.

    3/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • 0/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • All the login ID, set up and access card came very late. I had no desk and I had no work to do for the first few weeks.

    2/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Could have done better. As I said I benefited more out of the office but most of the time I was stuck doing nothing inside the office.

    3/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    National Travel

    Company Parties/Events

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • 4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • It would have been excellent if we were all together.

    3/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • 4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • It was ok, but there are MUCH better places.

    2/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • 3/5
