The Role
The whole programme is well structured and intense, during which I learnt and improved a lot. Interns had three programme to do: one with other interns in the same division, one CSR programme with interns across different division, and an individual project given by Line Manager. Also, People around are nice and willing to help.
My colleagues gave positive feedbacks to my individual project.
My line manger is quite busy so actually he doesnt have much time to look after me. He taught me the approaches and introduced me some people in other divisions in the beginning of the programme. After that I almost worked on the project by myself. Personally I think it's a good thing because you will learn how to work independently. And you can always seek for help from anyone else around.
I kept myself busy during the whole programme because the deadlines of the three programmes are tight.
Interns are given great responsibility in RBS. My line manager gave me a independent project to do. So during the ten weeks I was not supporting any colleague but doing a whole project on my own. Therefore I talked with many people in the business to gain their insights and seek for their advice on my project.
During the ten weeks I learnt some useful analytical approaches, software skills and financial analytical knowledge. Moreover, the CSR project and individual project gave me a lot of opportunities to talk with people, which improved my communication skills and enhanced my confidence.
The Company
People around are nice and humorous.
Well organised but the communications between HR and LM are not much. LM may not know that HR also give interns other work do to .
Lots of listening lunch and online study.
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
This year it's becoming better and I think there will be more opportunities.
The Culture
Most people in my team have family so they dont social a lot.
The restaurants around are a bit expensive.
Lots of pubs around.
Community work or voluntary work.
