The Role
There was a fair amount of responsibility given to me with a continuous flow of work which ensured that I was always busy.
My colleagues really made the effort to make me feel at home and help me transition into the bank.
I always had the support from someone in my team and all of my colleagues were more than helpful when I approached them with queries.
I was kept fairly busy with workload increasing with the passage of time
A good amount, working on reports that all the other analysts were doing and which allowed me to learn a lot about the day to day work of the people within my division
This was the only part of the placement that disappointed me because although the work was informative, it was not in line with my skills nor with my degree.
The Company
The culture within the bank was very good considering that it made you work hard but you never felt stressed. Furthermore, with continuous social events and talks by the senior management, the bank felt more like close knit family rather than separate divisions trying to co-exist.
This is another thing that the placement lacked for I felt that while it had a good structure, certain events could have been spaced so that more time was given to prepare for them. Furthermore, mandatory rotations within and/or outside my division would have also helped me to gain a wider understanding of the bank.
There was a lot of training available on the placement that I made good use of and that I felt would help me in the internship and beyond.
Flexi Time
Company Parties/Events
They are appealing in a few divisions but not so much in the division that I was hoping to be in.
The Culture
There were not that many interns on my floor and hence there was not much socialising with them.
It was pricey
Very vibrant
Apart from a few, no
