The Role
The intenrship was really enjoyable since I was able to have an interaction with many people throughout the bank. Moreover, I was able to have an insight in many different divisions and therefore managed to grasp the services and products provided on a bank-wide perspective.
I was treated as a permanent employee within my team as my colleagues respected me and provided me with important work to be completed.
There was a constant support from my Line Managers and all the people within my team. I was able to set up personal meetings and ask many questions in order to gain a good grasp of the necessities of the different tasks.
There were constant tasks to perform and multiple deadlines to complete. The work was challenging but people were understanding on their delivery
I was given specific large projects and had the ability to take my own initiative and set up discussion meeting with people to collect the relevant information.
I believe that the internship has provided a good set of skills. The ability to work under pressure and deadlines, organisational and communicational skills and taking initiative were some of the main attributes developed through my time in the organisation. Adding to this, the nature of the work performed advanced my quantitative and analytical skills to a large extent.
The Company
The atmosphere was really friendly and everyone was really approachable
The internship was well organised as the induction and training assisted us with basic skills and knowledge and our teams were then able to educate us with the more specifics requirements.
I was provided with Excel training during induction and also completed many webinars voluntarily through the intranet of the Bank.
The working environment was really good and friendly and I believe the organisation consists a perfect place for someone to start his career.
The Culture
There was a good social activity among interns with different socials and nights out being organised
Life at London was expensive compared to other areas of the UK
