The Role
The internship was a great opportunity of being able to gain exposure to different areas of the specific department I worked in (Treasury), thus allowing me to develop my communication skills. Specifically, the work within Treasury allowed me to gain an in depth knowledge of the bank as a whole. Additionally, being given so much responsibility allowed me to develop my technical skills.
I feel as if I bonded very well with my colleagues as well as with my line manager, both in the work place and out of the work place. This way, I did not always have to rely on my line manager and could comfortably ask my team about any queries I had. I managed to a learn a lot within my team a lone as each member of my team gave me responsibility within the specific fields they worked in.
I felt as if I was given a lot of support and felt very welcomed by members within my team and members outside of my team. Especially during the CSR event, everyone in my department was very supportive and helpful.
Considering the fact that I was given a lot of responsibility and was asked to be in charge of several daily processes, I felt as if I had a good amount of work everyday (some days more busier than the rest). There was no day I felt extremely bored.
I was in charge of several daily processes and was given a lot of responsibility.
Considering the fact that the work was so technical, I can now take away the skills I have developed with using Excel and apply it to my degree
The Company
Great environment, everyone was very welcoming and very friendly. I dont feel as if there was a time that I couldnt ask anyone for guidance
It was great other than the fact that I feel as if the deadlines for the CSR challenge and the project were too close together. With the work given by my line manager, this meant there was a lot of build up of work and pressure to complete it on time.
A great deal with all of the responsibility, however I feel as if you have to have the initiative to try and gain more exposure -such as with shadowing.
Flexi Time
Company Parties/Events
Very appealing because of the working environment and flexibility of the work.
The Culture
Yes for example, we took part in a treasure hunt which was a great way of bonding.
Not high mainly because I was commuting from home
Very good, great bars around
Not as many as we thought,
