The Role
I found it a really good insight and exposure into banking. I was provided with opportunities for personal development and to learn key skills.
I felt that I was able to provide value adding solutions and made useful contributions as much as an Intern could. I was trusted to complete several projects on their behalf independently.
Regular review and performance meetings. Discussed my strengths and what had to develop.
Whilst other interns felt like they did not have a lot of work to do; I felt like I was challenged and had a good, but not excessive, amount of work and had reasonable hours.
As with most intern programmes, the company is limited as to what they can give you.
Whilst I developed numerous transferable soft skills, the amount of technical learning is low. You are there to experience the company and not necessarily learn how to do the job.
The Company
Very informal and supportive. People are always willing to assist if you ask them and are approachable.
Clear timetable of the central intern events. It is up to you to plan your day to day calendar and manage work.
Not much in terms of technical training. Invested a lot of resources otherwise
Sports and Social Club
National Travel
Clear prospects for progression and numerous opportunities available within the company across the divisions
The Culture
Really good friendly atmosphere across the team
