    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I found the internship overall really enjoyable. We were able to rotate between different desks, which meant we got a really wide exposure to the full business area. The corporate culture of the business meant that it was a nice environment to work in, which is unlike the environment of a typical investment bank.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Overall I felt generally valued by the colleagues. Most of the work which I got was used by the business area and actually useful for them, Also, they were all willing to take the time to speak to me and work with me. However, I felt that at some times I was getting in the way, especially when a deal was being executed.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was given a lot of support, and had time for feedback and questions organised every week.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Not very much, because my degree is not focused on finance.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Very relaxed and friendly

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • It was very well organised

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I think that in terms of broad training about Capital Markets, the programme could be improved by providing an overview of the business at the start. However, each of the desks I rotated on were very good at investing time in my training
