The Role
My placement was very enjoyable, I was able to learn a lot more about the industry and RBS as a company. The people were very friendly and I was able to get used to the working environment very easily.
My colleagues were very helpful as they were always available to help when I needed assistance. This was also seen during the assessment centre where it felt as though the assessment centre was as important to them as it was to me.
My Line manager was very supportive. It was also very helpful that they followed a similar route to myself. My manager did a summer internship as well as the graduate programme and so was able to aid me in many ways. They also gave me a lot of guidance as to on how to improve after the mid programme review.
During the start and end of the internship, I found myself with less work than I had during the middle of my internship. With the CSR challenge and Project along with the daily tasks of work I was given, It was a challenge to keep up with all of the work.
I had a lot of responsibility during the course of the internship, possibly because there wasn't as many interns. I was able to rotate around a lot of the teams which was also helpful.
I have developed many skills during my internship. The main skill being communication. My confidence has really been strengthened during the internship and I have been able to talk to a range of people of different grades.
The Company
The general atmosphere was very friendly and people were always happy to help when I needed assistance. I feel I was able to fit in well with the people in my Team.
The Internship was organised very well. There was a clear structure to the programme.
Everyone was happy to give me time in every division which was extremely helpful.
