The Role
Well organised and gave me good exposure to the banking world.
My team were very welcoming and made me feel as though my role was very valued. The work I was given was central to the teams progress over the next few years.
There were various infrastructures and programmes that helped us through the internship. The several assessments and feedback ensured we were continually driven.
A third of the time I was extremely busy and had a lot of work to get a long with. The other two thirds, I had work to get on with but it was not very engaging and I didn't feel very busy.
My main responsibilities were the intern assessments, such as the group project and the charity challenge. Therefore, my responsibilities did not really reside within my team. One project my Line Manager set me at the beginning was entirely my responsibility and filled up most of my time in the first two/three weeks.
I study History - so other than learning about the history of RBS, the skills I developed have not helped with my degree. However, I have learnt a lot while at RBS which will help me with my future endeavours within the finance sector.
The Company
Rather pleasant, and chatty people.
Great infrastructure for us, and good support.
Invested a lot in us. The training at the beginning was great, and learned a lot. But the learning lunches didn't help us out too much.
Rather appealing
The Culture
There are great social events, and team drinks.
I worked in London so very expensive. And the commute cost me a lot. The City bars are very expensive.
Didnt go out near where I worked.
Not really.
